20 June 2015 – The opening address “Cacophony of a Metropolis” by art historian and author Dr. Thomas Piesbergen at the opening of the current exhibition “The city from below” is available to read here. Dr. Piesbergen gave the opening address at Andreas Bromba’s current exhibition at the gallery Einstellungsraum in Hamburg on 16 June 2015. The photographic concept is one of Andreas Bromba’s oldest and most important and is presented here for the first time in an art historical context. But please read for yourself!   The exhibition is being held in the context of Einstellungsraum’s theme for this year, which is taken from a line by Matthias Claudius: “Where there is noise in the streets, there proceed on your way” (from a letter to his son Johannes). Andreas Bromba presents quiet works exploring the phenomenon of soundlessness in modern cityscapes through the medium of photography.

17 July 2016 – A number of new images have been added to Andreas Bromba’s successful “Mysticism” series: London offers many subjects with a unique character, some familiar and others tucked away from view. As always, it is especially the subjects off the beaten tourist paths that are the most interesting. There are a number of interesting subjects in the inner-city “Temple Bar” district, where the Knights Templar have clearly left their mark – as if they were still here (or rather: there). Or perhaps they never left? The sphinx on the Thames likewise has an aura of mystery and grandeur.   All of the photos were taken with the new Nikon Df. And as always: real-time pictures, no photoshopping (just a little fluff and a skyscraper in the background that had to be removed/sphinx image).

5 October 2016 – Andreas Bromba is participating in a very special group exhibition on 15 October 2016. He and five renowned artists will present current positions in “spiritual art” at the Rosicrucians’ spiritual centre in Bad Münder near Hanover. Andreas Bromba will be exhibiting seven photos from his “Mystical Series”, including “Church near Königsberg/Kaliningrad” (left-hand picture) and his personal classic “In the sky over Gdansk” (right-hand picture).   The exhibition entitled AUFBRUCH (expressing the idea of an awakening, or the dawn of a new era) runs until 9 December 2016 in the meeting centre of the International School of the Golden Rosy Cross. 4 February 2017 – The van Rijckenborgh conference centre in Bad Münder near Hanover is the spiritual centre of the Rosicrucians in northern Germany. Contemporary art and spirituality came together here from October to December 2016. It’s a great concept, and the venture surpassed the expectations of the organisers and the participating artists. More than one thousand people visited the exhibition over the course of three months, drawing inspiration from guided tours by the six artists of their exhibitions and from discussions and the presence of the artists “up close and personal”. The Rosicrucians were truly open and wholehearted hosts. The exhibition itself was professionally prepared and presented.   Andreas Bromba exhibited seven of his Mystical Photographs (in two formats on Alu-Dibond). Several were sold and many new contacts made.

31 October 2017 – Tokyo, Yokohama, Zushi and Kamakura: Andreas Bromba spent several weeks in Japan in September 2017 – more than 2,500 photographs were the result. New photographic material for the long-running conceptual series “Mystical Series” and “The city from below” as well as for the new series “Faces of Japan”. Japan is fascinating for its wonderful people and for the harmonious synthesis of living tradition and absolute modernity, with plenty of “cuteness” and playfulness – anything is possible!
